Authintic is a hip hop artist and producer born and raised in Colorado. He became a single father at 21 when his son’s mother was killed in an auto accident. In 2009, he started his printing business and has been self-employed since. In 2016 his grandfather was inducted into the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame. Authintic has a unique, one of a kind perspective rarely seen in hip hop that is heard throughout his music.
In 2003, he started making beats and fell in love with the process of creating music. Shortly after, he began to record music, as he had been writing songs as far back as he could remember. Being a young, wild kid, he got himself into some legal trouble and did a few months in county jail before being sentenced to probation. The day of his release he went to Home Depot, purchased building materials and built a vocal booth in the basement of his parent’s home. The next day, he spent the rest of his money and purchased recording equipment from Guitar Center. He made the decision he would channel his anger and other emotions through music going forward.
All music written, recorded and produced is done out of pure passion and desire. Music is created as a therapeutic aid to himself and his listeners. He is not influenced nor intrigued by the idea of record deals, money, and fame, in fact he despises it. Authintic has always believed if you can’t be yourself in your pursuit of happiness, there is no point to even try. Though he draws influence from many musicians, his sound can only be identified as Authintic, with there being few similarities to anyone else.
Over the years, Authintic has performed 150+ shows across Colorado, from only friends to thousands in the crowd. He recalls performing in Ft Collins and it being the most humbling moment of his life, seeing strangers rap along to every word of his songs. In recent years, he has been far more selective with his performances. Understanding his demographic is more selective with how they spend their time, he’s focused on releasing quality music.
Since 2018 he has released a new project each year. With each release he has gained more momentum, listeners and inspiration. His last album “Alone With My Thoughts” was streamed 30K + times on Spotify alone, with the stand-out track “Misfit” still being played regularly and added to playlists daily. He will be releasing “Get Real or Die Lying” on March 4th, 2022 which features the legendary Slaine out of Boston and Wrekonize from Strange Music. The future plans to be productive, with quality hip-hop music being the catalyst. When you listen to any project by Authintic you will quickly hear the man is an exact representation of his name in every way.
